SHOOQ is worth far more than just a blog article. SHOOQ is an experience. From the incredibly friendly and very special staff to the great, varied menu.
The Balinese religion - everyday life and faith interwoven
Interesting for:
Bali in general
According to the teachings of Agama Hindu Dharma, the religion of the Balinese, human beings and the universe stand in an antagonistic relationship to each other. The human being lives in a cosmos of opposites such as heaven and earth, life and death, good and evil
In Bali, there is a dance for almost every occasion, but certainly for many celebrations and ceremonies. There are over 200 known dances on the island and pretty much every village has its own dance group. The dances can not only be an expression of pure joie de vivre, but also have a deeply religious meaning.
The name stands for the concept - built on a parking space, with a bamboo roof, all open and airy. The Alang-Alang waves nicely, with cosy tables and benches. You can't miss it - the prettiest VW bus on the island (in which the crepes are prepared) already smiles at you friendly and invitingly from the street.

Just 8 kilometres off Bali's south-east coast lies this small, largely unknown group of islands, offering dreamy getaways in the crystal-clear, shimmering turquoise sea and on pristine sandy beaches. Even the crossing in a speedboat or - even more beautiful - by outrigger boat is a refreshing adventure.
One thing is clear, a visit to a monkey forest is part of every Bali trip. If you want to get to know the island away from the beach life and get up close to the monkeys, head to the Monkey Forest. A great excursion for young and old. On Bali, you can be sure of species-appropriate keeping and loving care - because the monkeys are indeed sacred.
Bali's hot and humid monsoon climate and fertile volcanic soil are ideal for rice cultivation. They are particularly beautiful in the centre of the island and around Ubud: rice terraces that stretch up from the valleys into the mountainsides.
The entire interpersonal sphere in Bali is characterised by consideration for the feelings of others. In doing so, it is important to avoid the innumerable blunders into which you can easily stumble as a foreigner.
November to January, Bali likes to be "a bit" rainy. Of course, this makes the beaches less attractive - but, that doesn't mean you can't still have a great holiday. What there is to do on a not so nice day is what we want to share with you today.
